Moving Mountains B12 Burger Review

6/22/2018

The road to finding this burger all started one day when I was watching The Ellen Degeneres show where she was talking about catering her birthday with vegan cheeseburgers, that tasted exactly like a regular beef burger by the name of the impossible burger. Now I have to admit the one thing I miss the most since cutting out red meat (possibly the worst environmental harm) was a good cheeseburger. I just never liked the mushroom or bean replacement patties because they didnt suffice to settle the craving of a juicy burger. So there started my quest to hunt down this supposedly duplicate tasting patty replacement. The search for the impossible burger ended shortly as I found that they havent reached this side of the pond yet, so if you live in the States you can still track the burger on the brands website.

But I dont give up easily, especially when dreaming of the perfect burger so after some extensive research I found that there is British version of this wonder called the B12 Burger, by Moving Mountains. On their website you can check which local restaurants provide the patty in their burgers and my local happened to be Dirty Bones. The annoying thing about Dirty Bones is that it is essentially a meat restaurant. So if the smell and sigh of meat being devoured isnt for you then this restaurant chain is a no go. For me this was no issue so I took my trustee tasting companion with me and we went to try out their "Vegan McDaddy burger". This burger is made from the B12 patty has a cashew based mac and cheese topping.

Verdict: The pleasant surprise is that patty itself really and truly tastes of meat. A combination between minced meat and lamb but definitely meat. The burger itself as a whole though lacked juiceness. I think the reason being there was no lettuce or tomato in the bun making it on the dry side. Even so, Im still dreaming of the burger several days after I had it. My advice to Dirty Bones is to add another B12 variation to the menu or to offer the option to swap all their existing burger patties to the B12 for vegetarians.
Either way a solid 10/10 for the creation by Moving Mountains.
